Core

Research Design

The core of my practice. I design studies from the demands of the research question and constraints, not from a standard methods toolkit. This includes adversarial evaluation protocols, phased prioritization exercises that manage cognitive load while preserving quantitative and qualitative depth simultaneously, bilingual and culturally adapted stimulus materials, and multi-phase iterative study architectures that incorporate organizational buy-in as a structural feature of the research design.

Qualitative

Qualitative Methods

Generative in-depth interviews, concept evaluation with storyboards and concept videos, Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation (RITE), moderated and unmoderated usability testing (remote and in-lab), field research and in-home contextual studies, card sorting and tree testing, diary studies, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristic analysis, journey mapping and task flow analysis.

Quantitative

Quantitative & Scaled Methods

A priori hypothesis development and statistical test design, counterbalanced experimental conditions, performance metric computation from paired telemetry and human-coded ground truth, positional scoring for aggregate feature prioritization, survey design, behavioral telemetry and log analysis, customer journey dashboards, NLP-powered semantic analysis at scale.

Infrastructure

Research Infrastructure

End-to-end research practice establishment, insights repositories, intake and triage processes, consultation and stakeholder engagement models, research training programs for non-researchers, and Research Operations including recruiting, vendor management, and workflow scaling.

Domain

AI & Emerging Technology

Agentic systems, always-on AI assistants, contextual AI, multimodal interaction (gestural input, EMG, camera vision), generative AI tool evaluation and integration, and pre-category concept validation where standard benchmarks do not yet exist.

Global

International Research

Cross-cultural study design, culturally adapted stimulus materials, interpreter-mediated research protocols, and analytical frameworks grounded in cultural and historical context. Field work conducted across six countries on three continents.
